Peterborough Cancer Treatment Appeal (PCTA) – Fundraising for cancer treatment and diagnosis equipment for Peterborough & Stamford Hospitals

WHAT IS THE PCTA?

Welcome to the PCTA, which is a registered Charity dedicated to fundraising for equipment used in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer for the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which the Trust would be unable to afford from other resources. We were established in 1981 by the late Mr. Dennis Bracey, Medical Director of Peterborough Hospitals and Dr. Clement Brown visiting Oncologist from Addenbrookes.

OUR OBJECTIVE?

To attack and defeat the disease of cancer in all its forms by raising funds to assist the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and its successors to acquire equipment and services for the treatment of cancer.

THE GRATEFUL LADIES

A word about The Grateful Ladies ... Sandra Sheffield had cancer in 1976, following recovery, she formed The Grateful Ladies Group with a friend, who had also had cancer, initially to raise £50. They went on over the years to raise over £1m. She was awarded the MBE in June 2000 and was a Member of the PCTA Committee for many years.
